What if I have questions or need assistance with the application process?

Am I eligible? Who can apply?
Any Arlington MA, resident with a documented cancer diagnosis is eligible to apply for a grant. The Sanborn Foundation Board of Directors has the sole authority to approve and deny grant requests and reserves the right to make decisions on a case-by-case basis.
What types of expenses are covered?
The Sanborn Foundation will only pay for cancer-related expenses. Examples of these include: Requests for payment of other items not listed here are also invited and will be reviewed by the Board.
Will Sanborn pay my bills directly, or can I only be reimbursed?
The Sanborn Foundation is able pay a provider or vendor directly on your behalf. We will also reimburse you for approved expenses once you submit proof of payment.
Will Sanborn pay for services other than medical bills?
Integrative Therapy Policy: The Sanborn Foundation will cover up to $10,000 in expenses per lifetime for the following types of Integrative Therapies, during active treatment for your cancer: What isn’t covered? Do you provide transportation?
The Council on Aging has been awarded a grant from the Sanborn Foundation to arrange and pay for rides for Arlington residents of any age at no cost. Individuals requesting reimbursement for assistance with rides to cancer-related medical appointments do not need to apply to the foundation but should contact the Arlington Council on Aging
Who is GMA?
GMA Foundations assists Sanborn with grantmaking administration by processing, tracking, and managing reimbursement and direct bill requests and payments.
